Blumenfeld gives the Spring 2021 Arthur L. and Sheila Prensky Island Press Visiting Artist Lecture, Monday, March 22, 2021, at 6 PM CT for the Sam Fox School of Art, Washington University. Blumenfeld’s talk, Consequence of Wonder, will share her art practice and projects spanning the last 20 years as well as the new printmaking project she’s been working on as artist-in-residence with Island Press.

Blumenfeld moderates a panel discussion at the Lunar and Planetary Institute in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of NASA’s legendary Earthrise photograph. Joined by filmmaker Emmanuel Vaughan-Lee as well as William Stefanov, Lead Earth Science & Remote Sensing for the ISS at JSC, and Andrea Meado, Geoscientist at JSC, together they discuss the remarkable image of Earth rising over the Moon captured by the crew of Apollo 8 in December 1968.
